Hello,
I have a problem with installing forceware drivers for my Nvidia Quadro NVS 280 PCI. The system is running Windows 98se
My system is a Futro S550-2.

I’m always getting following message:
Setup was unable to locate any NVIDIA graphics chips on this system. The installation will be terminated

I tried installing forceware versions: 88.98, 81.85, 77.72, 66.94

SIV320 shows correct device vendor IDs for the NVS 280 (10DE-032A-019F10DE-A1):

The attachment siv320_pci.jpg is no longer available

It’s also listed in NVAML.INF:
%NVIDIA&DEV_032A.DeviceDesc% = NV30GL, PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_032A

Could this problem be caused by no chipset driver being installed? AMD M690E has no win9x drivers…?
Any ideas?

How much memory is currently physically installed?

More information is needed. Show screenshots of the Device Manager as "Connected Devices" so that it is clear where your card is located and what type of computer is currently being used.

Are ACPI, other unused devices, and the integrated GPU (if present) disabled in the BIOS?

I've always force installed the 45.23 driver as an FX5200 when using my NVS 280 with Win98SE. I found that adding a fan to the passive cooler was necessary, my hunch is that the core clock is increased by doing this. This is from my TXP4 with a K6-3+ @ 500 MHz. Though it is only a 64 bit card, in this case it was so CPU limited that a 128 bit FX 5500 had a nearly identical score.

After watching many YouTube videos about older computer hardware, YouTube began recommending videos about trains - are they trying to tell me something?
