Hi Keropi,

Do you have an estimated date when the MK 1869 Extreme and PCMidi Adaptor will ship for the first preorders? Thanks!

Queue has started processing but it's hard to estimate anything, a card might ship in 2 days or in 2 weeks - we just follow the queue and ship as cards are made - it is quite a long queue and there are so many hours in a day 😀

Perfect response. "It's ready when it's ready."

We didn't have these cards for the last 30 years, so what's the rush? I appreciate you guys!

No rush, I was just wondering as I need to replace a soundcard. Sounds like it may be a little bit yet so I’ll have to purchase something else in the meantime. Thank you!

Mine arrived today. Nice work again by Edro and Leo, a great looking card!

The attachment Untitled.jpg is no longer available

I will test it soon. It's intended for in my new(-ish) 486-build... Which houses a P24T because I accidentally dropped the 486DX2-80 😒 I will also use it with a MT32 and Yamaha FB-01.

I keep checking YouTube for a review since cards are being shipped. Are there no review samples this time?

Leo and Edro know that I am patient and have decided to ship out everyone else's cards first. I hope that all of you are enjoying your MK1869 XTREMEs! 😁

Heh we just go as fast as we can, really!
Also no review yet for the xtreme, just the pc sound legacy playback showcases exist...
LGR has a card since before the US shipping shenanigans but I do not know when/if he will do anything public with it...

PS.
the US shipping situation is not resolved yet - so everyone in the US please be a little more patient as there is nothing we can do atm 😐

Am I too late to the party in terms of getting an XTREME?
Anywhere I can put my name on interested list for the future?

How does the card behave with the PCMIDI MPU401 add-on board and the card set to use it and when there's an MPU401 device plugged into the input jack? If General Midi is then selected in a game, will it use the ES690 or the external device?

Thanks

if both ES690 and JACK are assigned to PCMIDI (or ESS MPU) then both will receive the same midi data and play it
if you want separation then you can create a dual mpu setup:
- ESS MPU at port300 with assigned ES690
- PCMIDI at port330 assigned to JACK

Confirmed! I just tested this. I was not aware MPUs could do two devices at once, cool.

I would not recommend this though. There was a strange sound in the background that was not present when either was used independently, like a low, rumbling motor on idle.

What I will in fact do is what you suggest -- jumper the internal ES690 to the ESS MPU and then have that run at MPU port 300.

This can be done also on the Orpheus LT II. In my case, with a X2GS wavetable.
I want to have the option to use the X2GS and the midi out to connect to a SC-55, picking which one to use depending on the game, without opening the case and removing the X2GS, or putting it back. So I kept the standard 330 port for the midi out, and the Crystal MPU on 300 port for the X2GS wavetable card. You can edit the orpheus.ini in the proper section to enable that.

Just change from:
MPUBase=disabled
MPUIRQ=disabled

To:
MPUBase=300
MPUIRQ=9

Just posting here, because it took me a while to learn how to do it (Keropi walked me through it). It is easy, when you know what to do.
