Hello,

midway during installation of Windows XP on my Intel D815EPEA2 the installation freeze and I unplugged the PSU.

Now I am getting a garbled image during post.

The setup was as follows

1.2 Ghz Tualatin

384 mb SDram (256+128)

Radeon 9550 Agp

80 Gb IDE HDD

I tried to troubleshoot;

If I put a ram stick into slot 1 or 3 I get a black screen, with 2 blinks of three leds on the ps2 keyboard, with the ram in the 2. slot I get the garbled image with three blinks of the three leds on the keyboard.

I tried a known working Coppermine 733 mhz with the same results.

Tried another working PSU, with the same results.

Tried a known working PCI Voodoo 3 2000 again same results.

The cpus are getting warm, so something is happening.

I am about to recap the whole board and wanted to ask if any of you encountered something like this, before I waste time with a possibly unsalvagable motherboard.

Bioses eventually blank themselves. Start there.

I built:
Convert old ASUS ASC boardviews to KICAD PCB!
Re: A comprehensive guide to install and play MechWarrior 2 on new versions on Windows.
Dos+Windows 3.11+tcp+vbe_svga auto-install iso template
Script to backup Win9x\ME drivers from a working install
Re: The thing no one asked for: KICAD 440bx reference schematic

This motherboard has a "system administrator" jumper.
Information about this BIOS/settings recovery jumper can be found in the manual.
