Has anyone here ever heard of 8086tiny?

I remember 10-odd years ago reading the Raspberry Pi Magazine (or maybe the Pi blog) where someone of this tool up and running.

For the longest time I've wanted to use this for something. Maybe in two weeks' time I'll try it out.

Currently writing Nutanix exams for work, so my free time is rather limited.

Just built it from source and it works under Linux. There's a CGA game inside the attached floppy image that works. Nice!

8086tiny was one of the reasons I got in to writing PC emulators in the first place. 😀
It is a cool little project. But not the easiest codebase to read and understand.

These days there are a lot of PC/XT emulators around. In large because of the wide availability of test data you can use to validate old Intel CPUs.

VirtualXT - A portable, lightweight Turbo PC/XT emulator written in Odin.
