Which codec should I use in oCam to capture old games?

I want to record a playthrough of "Faces of War" (2006) on Windows 10 using oCam. But as soon as I start recording, the game crashes.
The codecs I've tried:
1) MP4: NVIDIA NVENC H.264 + AAC, Intel Quick Sync Video H.264 + AAC
2) MKV: NVIDIA NVENC H.264 + AAC, Intel Quick Sync Video H.264 + AAC
3) AVI: NVIDIA NVENC H.264 + AAC, Intel Quick Sync Video H.264 + AAC, Open H.264 + AAC
4) WMV: Windows Media Video 8, Microsoft MPEG4 Part 3
I already have the K-Lite Codec Pack installed. I'm not yet considering other capture programs (OBS, Fraps), capturing on another computer, or an external monitor. What o do?
