got this Latitude CPi-R laptop off ebay for cheap. as expected, the seller doesn't know the password. the system is a doorstop without it; it asks for it after the POST and shuts off after 3 failed attempts. documentation online seems to say that the password is stored in NVRAM rather than CMOS so pulling the battery does nada. there is an obscure forum post that talks about shorting 2 pins on the NVRAM chip during startup but there was no further elaboration, and i believe it was for a CPi-A, but i believe the process would be the same considering they are darn near identical. could anyone provide clarification on this process or link me to somewhere with info? TIA!
