Dear all,
I bought a cool Compaq Armada 7350MT laptop, what has some issue. After the power supply is plugged on the green and the red LEDs are constantly flashing with 1sec interval and nothing happens. I take apart and removed the CMOS battery what caused some leak on the motherboard, but it wasn't too bad. The traces doesn't damaged so I only cleaned up. The main power supply is good, it deliveres 18V when its plugged on. On the motherboard I can measure 5V, 3.3V and 2.5V, so I think the power rail is okay. The CPU heats up slowly so there is some CPU activity. (If I remove the CPU card the LEDs aren't flashing.) Strangly when its plugged on, there is a continous noisefrom the speakers.
Has anyone encountered such an error? As I read the battery charger is integrated into the external power supply, maybe that can be the rootcause? The battery is dead in the laptop. Once when I took apart the laptop and tested the motherboard without the case I heard one booting beep but sadly the LCD wasn't connected. That was the only sign of life. There aren't any hot components, so maybe there isn't a short circuit somewhere.
Thanks for the help!
