Hello,
First, please excuse my english ; it's not my language.
I installed DosBox and Pirates ! Gold for Dos however I have a problem when I launch the game. I had set the compatibility settings of the file WP.EXE to Win 95 compatible, 256 colors and 640x460 screen and when I launch the game with DosBox, I have this message :

File <spr\title.spr> Not Found Error !
SVGA#: 1 (vesa) w/512Kb

If anyone have a idea...

I think Compatibility Modes are for Windows executables ONLY.

DOSBox is for running ms-dos executables only.

DOSBox does not care what you do to the game in that compatibility screen.

Read my 60 Seconds Guide to DOSBox (and don't just read it - follow it too).

If that doesn't help, come back with details on how you mounted your C and D drives, how you did the install, how you configured sound, music etc.

I am really, really sorry for reviving a really old thread and because of the fact that this is my first post. Anyway, Altho (and all other guys trying to solve the same problem at the moment), copying missing .spr files from SPR16 folder (if there is one) to spr might help you. I didn't test thoroughly though, but it helped me start the game.
