Hello,
First post here, and this one has me stumped...
I have a Socket A, MSI KT3 Ultra 2 motherboard that has a KT333CE chipset, which I think means it should be compatible with AGP 3.3V video cards. However, when powering on, the board makes one long beep followed by three short beeps, which means a video card issue. If I switch cards to another Voodoo I have then I get the beep pattern, but if I switch to a 1.5V card - like a Geforce 4 - then the beeps disappear. Using the Voodoo, I'm able to boot into Windows 98 and run 3DMark 2000 with no issue.
So, what I'm wondering is, is this motherboard really compatible with 3.3V AGP video cards? In the BIOS settings, you can switch between AGP 1x, 2x, and 4x (or Auto); but when it comes to the AGP voltage settings, the options are Auto, 1.6V, 1.7V, and 1.8V.
What do you think? For now I'm not using the Voodoo3 anymore to err on the side of caution but really, I can't be sure if it's compatible or not.
