When i try to run dosbox and mount a directory i cannot write the :
and all my keys except letter ones get messed up. Anyone have any suggestions?

I really want to run a game called Trolls, palyed it a lot as a child 😀

Yes I have widows vista home premium 32.bit
its not a laptop.

its so annoying 🙁 the keyboard works perfectly fine but not when i try to type the : or any other sign. They move around on the keyboard.

Any suggestions? 😀

Aha... Signs moving around your keyboard? Whatever you're taking, cut it down a bit.

Oh, and read the readme, especially the section conveniently labelled "Keyboard Layout".

Switch your Vista keyboard layout to english.

IMO the keyboard layout is important enough to be selected at install time.

Maybe if it didn't? On real DOS these were independent too. I.e german doesn't really need cp 850, the important characters are in cp437 too.

default+preferred codepage is 850/852

it's a vista 64 bit the laptop is a pavilion tx2500z and if i'm corret the language is English.

I always removed it back in the day on my DOS and never had any problems...

But it's what most people used as it was the default. And yes it does not
work with certain apps of course.

Even if choosing a layout at install time does mess up some text screen it would be much less problematic than novice users not finding their : IMO. DOSBox is just not usable for those people after installation.
