Hi,

I removed the VGA BIOS from my MS-6159 ROM, but it doesn’t launch the external VGA BIOS.
I soldered two BIOS chips piggy-back and made them selectable so I can experiment with the BIOS.

cbrom bios.bin /vga release — this removed the VGA BIOS.

However, my Matrox card never initializes unless I add the Matrox VGA BIOS directly to the main BIOS ROM.
What do I need to modify in order to get my BIOS to launch the ROM on the PCI card?

Thanks,
Matthias

Modbin fixes the System BIOS (first #0 module) checksum - change for example bios message and save to a new BIOS file.
CBROM fixes the whole Award ROM checksum - make some manipulation with a module (add/release) to force re-calculate.

Anyway, BIOS launches PCI OpROM only if a PCI device with corresponding VEN-DEV signature is connected to PCI bus.

MS-6159 has onboard AGP VGA. So you have to setup PCI videocard priority in BIOS settings first.

Why the need for BIOS modifications? The "Init Display First" set to PCI slot doesn't work?
