I picked up an Advanced Gravis Analog Joystick (the "Limited Edition" version with a clear shell but no trigger button) and tested it out on X-Wing. Unfortunately the pots seem to be borked: the slightest downward touch causes it to go off-center making the pointer careen downwards, and something similar but temporary happens rightwards when I move the stick left. In theory it could be a software issue (my DOS box is a PMMX 166MHz and the gameport is on an Audician 32, for reference) but since it's only happening in one direction I kind of doubt it. The obvious next step is to deoxit the pots but that would mean tearing off the foam rubber feet and ruining its "mintiness" and the stabilization of the foam, they could be beyond cleaning anyway. Has anyone done this before who can recommend replacement potentiometers and rubber feet?
