In my quest for a functioning Voodoo2 so far I have only came across Voodoo 3 that needs repairs. Seeing that this is the path to be. I have decided to kitbash all of my non working Voodoo2 into one.
One of most mind boggling card I have across is this one I got from China. With broken chip contact and mixed memory chips of different manufacturers and frequencies. Is this common among Voodoo cards or this card have had its memory chips replaced? Can it still function even with mixed memory chips?

Images, please dont mind the heat tape.

They're not necessarily replaced - I've seen Voodoos before with mixed brand chips ... Especially since, the ones that are different are for the FBI IIRC, and the others for the TMUs.

If it's dual it's kind of cool ... 😎

Hi.
I wouldn't worry about memory from different manufacturers.
I've got VooDoo with factory mixed Silicon & EltronTech chips (same speed grade).
but...
those Silicon chips look "fake" - bad quality of markings and letter 'S' is not in italic like the others.
Genuine chip looks like that:

Thanks for the confirmation guys, after cross referencing with some of the other cards that I have it's indeed that the SiliconMAGIC chips does not look right.

Next question remains, are these chips can still be procured? Or I have no other choice than buying a sacrificial card?
