Hi everyone,

I recently picked up a Kyocera KS-800 flatbed scanner from the early 1990s, complete with the DF-1 document feeder. The Kyocera KS-800 is a rare piece from the brief era when Kyocera attempted to enter the European PC market with its own line of peripherals and personal computers, in addition to its well-known laser printers.
The Kyocera KS-800 was made in Japan and distributed in Europe through Kyocera Electronics Europe GmbH in Germany. Benelux retailers imported the scanner from this German hub. Software bundles varied by region. The hardware is working, but I’m trying to track down the original software that was shipped with this scanner. Kyocera probably doesn’t want to be reminded of this experiment anymore

According to old magazine ads and documentation, the KS-800 was bundled with:
-Image-Desk II (image editing/scan processing suite) (Benelux & Scandinavia)
-SCOUT OCR (text recognition software) (Italy & Germany)

So far I haven’t been able to find disk images, installer files, or manuals anywhere online. Nothing can be found on Kyocera’s current websites; this hardware comes from the pre-Internet era, when everything was still distributed on floppy disks through a dealer network.”

My question:
Does anyone here still have the original software disks or installation images for Image-Desk II, SCOUT, or any other Kyocera KS-800 tools? I can imagine that someone in Germany may have come across this machine at some point and kept the original disks.
If so, would you be willing to share/upload them so the community can preserve them?

Thanks in advance!
