I recently sold an item on US eBay. The buyer bought it using Global Shipping Program GSP.
Just want to know how it works

After eBay's shipping hub received my item, do they just stick another shipping label on my package and send it to the buyer?
Or they will open the package and exam it, then re-package it? (not sure if they do package consolidation)

I usually don't have package dimensions or weight in my listing. How does eBay charge for the international shipping?

Thanks!

They do not consolidate. From what I've seen they don't seem to open the package even. They just slap another label on top of yours.
For me I always put close enough weight and dimensions. It affects the shipping costs on the buyer. Sellers who mess this up have their listings charge 50$ just for shipping, thus deterring many customers. Proper listings have shipping charges of around 15$... so big difference.

I have used GSP many times as a buyer, it's a black box and I have no idea how it works. I just pay the amount and it appears at my house.

There is no consistency in the packaging, so it's highly likely it's a label slap and not a repackage. Maybe they do a quick check to see if the packaging will survive international transit but that's just a guess.

Thanks. I usually boxed the item after it's sold, that's why I don't have the weight and dimensions.
I can enter an estimate when I create listing next time.

Thanks, then I will use a sturdy box for packaging.
