Does anyone have a higher resolution version of this wall paper for the ATi All In Wonder 128? This version is not 'low res' but it's clearly been upscaled from something lower. I set this as my wallpaper in 1999 leading up to Xmas, to 'hint' to my parents that I wanted one for Xmas. FYI, it worked. 😀

I'd love to find the highest resolution version possible.

my process when i wanted something for xmas in the 90's:

me: mom, i want "this" for xmas
mom: no money, fuck off

lucky bastard xD...

Your image is on the 118th page. Maybe this will help you in something

16-color Win3.1 wallpaper... (converted from BMP to PNG)

The attachment NOLIMITS.png is no longer available

original BITMAP here in archive:

The attachment NOLIMITS.rar is no longer available

the rest are more like posters

The attachment Shufflepuck Cafe.jpg is no longer available
The attachment PR-Golden-Axe-SEGA_Gerald_Parel_0.jpg is no longer available

LATER EDIT:
Seems that the Golden AXE poster gets shrunk by the website.
Here's an archive of the original:

The attachment PR-Golden-Axe-SEGA_Gerald_Parel_0.rar is no longer available

I really like the NOLIMITS wallpaper.

SAVED TO THE COLLECTION!

I'm glad you do 😀
Unfortunately I don't remember where I downloaded it from; but the datestamp says 27 Oct.1992.. so the file is legit OLD!
Just be sure to get it from the attached archive (not from the thumbnail), as the archive holds the original 16-color Bitmap 😀

Well, that's not really any higher res, but I'm blown away by where you found an example of it.

Thread cleanup.
For those posting off topic posts feel free to start your own thread. It's not that difficult.

Non-vintage wallpapers related to computer hardware are also off-topic.

The restore CD for my 7022 came with one that tiles. Originally BMP but here's a PNG version that I can actually attach.

I'd like to see more tiles in this thread. Tiled wallpapers remained the reality for most of the 1990s because full screen bitmaps just wasted valuable memory and I/O.

Most home users disabled desktop backgrounds to speed up their PCs, and I even disabled desktop icons!

I suspect high-spec Sun workstations were among the first to display actual high resolution bitmaps that reflected the actual hardware in the tin.

This image was known as iMac Girl and she graced many Jelly Bean desktops in 1998.

For an added bonus, I include her direct ancestor as third generation hand drawn sketch - in pink, with external I/O and interrupt switch! She is clearly the brainchild of a Japanese artist.

As sad it was, I too displayed iMac Girl (aka Blue Bondi Babe) on my MacOS desktop. Sadly I abandoned the iMac (an original jelly turquoise variant) in an alley when I literally worked to midnight at one employer, then drove overnight to start the next day at 9am with a new employer in another city. So many things were abandoned in an instant. I was evidently overworked. This is not a great memory.

Here's an odd one. I'm guessing this image is a product of an era (~2005) when not everything needed explicit commercial licensing.

It's definitely about Fujitsu Siemens Computers - hardware, and it's definitely features an Airbus A380 - hardware.

Why? Unsure. I'm fairly confident FSC didn't fly beside the A380 and take that photo 😉

I found at least one connection in a PDF which mentions them being involved with Airbus:
https://www.fujitsu.com/cn/Images/FTSV2015_Se … EN_FV0025-2.pdf

By using Fujitsu’s Automated Identification Technology (AIT) solution, Airbus is bringing the physical world of industrial processes and aircraft parts into the digital world

They are using RFID to track replacement parts for their aircraft with Fujitsu's help.

Sweet! Now I just need to find a use case for my old Fujitsu Siemens laptop.. 😁

What is easier to find a use case for is my Guillemot Maxi Gamer 3D. Here's some ~1997 tiles from Guillemot that I might come back to.

For lots of images relating to "really vintage" computers, check out "Daves Old Computers".

I took almost all of these and might be able to find the original higher-resolution files if anyone wants... (It has been a while)

[Just noticed this thread cuz. it popped up in "New Posts" - haven't read all (on ship using phone/spotty inet), so: Sorry if this has already been pointed out]
