hi , a few days ago im upgrade my pc to a windows 11 . and my pc has rx 570 ( 8 gb ) gpu ( directx 12 )some games like blood 2 the choosen , shogo , have very low fps and mouse sluttering . using latest 2.86.5 version. Made a clean windows install and tried some old drivers. Nothing change.

Well , i have another pc with windows 7 + nvidia gt710 ( dx11 )with this pc games runs ( blood 2 , shogo ) running fine and smooth with 2.86.5.

so my rx 570 is no suitable for these games ? while gt710 runs fine ?

thanks.

1. Is the BIOS up to date?
2. Did you install the chipset drivers?
3. In Device manager is there anything with warnings?
4. In Device manager, turn on "show hidden items" and then expand everything and list what is grayed out.

You can check it out if it's a dgvoodoo problem or not. Try dx11/12, other wrappers or even native running (or forcing d3d9on12 for those old games with the Compatibility Administrator tool).
Shogo and Blood 2 are both LithTech engines btw, but it shouldn't be a problem. I have Win11 too, with a hybrid core Intel cpu and they are running fine.

Tried many old versions dgvoodoo , still games underperforming. is it possible to install dx11 on a dx12 system? Or you mention dgvodoo2 control panel? also Which other wrappers like nglide?

It's the "output api" list, click on it and select "DirectD3D 11 (feature level 11.0)".

What are the specs on the Windows 11 pc?

If you want to stress test the gpu, use OCCT, its free for presonal use and should allow you to see every value that is important, while test runs (gpu clock, power usage, etc...). Try to see if the clock frequency goes up to what is advertised for your card (if it dips down a bit if the card is under heavy load and it's heating up, it's fine, might just need cleaning or cooling pad replacement (do not try the later if you don't have experience with it, ask an expert to help), but if it doesn't go to higher clock speeds at normal temperatures, it might be broken).

Also try testing dgvoodoo2 with other games. The games you mention all run on the older versions of the LithTech engine that are notorious for being poorly programmed (especially Blood 2) and do not perform well in general. Dege has implemented fixes for those games in the wrapper, but they can still run poorly, when I played through Blood 2 on an RTX 3050Ti laptop with Dgvoodoo 2, the game would lag when a fire effect was on screen, even through the gpu was fine.

Your specs look ok. Also if new games run well, then your gpu is probably fine and it is just those two games being broken for some reason (maybe Microsoft broke something with an update?).

Also, since you mentioned mouse stuttering, I remembered that those games also have issues with new gaming mice that have polling rates (how often the mouse sensor reports it's position, higher means more accurate cursor movement but some old games don't like it) higher than 125hz, so you could try these two options:

1. Download a dinput.dll wrapper from here: https://github.com/elishacloud/dinputto8/releases and copy it to where the problematic games are installed.
2. If your mouse has a control app for it, open that and look for the polling rate setting, set it to 125hz and see if the games still have the issue.

What happens if you run the problematic games with ddrawcompat instead of dgv?

Is one of your CPU cores pegging out at 100% when you are seeing the stuttering?

Windows 11 officially only officially supports 8th gen (and a few 7th Gen) on the Intel side.

I generally only do 7th Gen or newer with Windows 11.

The 4790 should be plenty for dgvoodoo but now sure about how Windows 11 is going to handle that CPU or what issues it may have.
