Hello everyone, I've just received a Realmagic Lite card and I've installed in my 486 build and I've come across this interesting thread.
I have a couple of questions in hope others have come across this.
-
Has anyone tried using ISO images in physical 486 machines using CD Emulation (SHSUCDHD and SHSUCDX) for RM games?
Or are you burning CDs? Just asking before I go down the CDR route.
- I have paired it with an ATI Mach32 VLB VGA and I am experiencing a strange behaviour that DOS will boot up in Black & White, when passthrough the RM card (internal feature connect0r).
When I run Windows 3.11 it will change to color. Also when I play MPEG sample files, the DOS UI is still BW but the video plays in color.
- The Windows media player has a "CDI" option. Is this intended to play CDI movies or for CDI games too?
I remember when RM came out, I did watch TopGun (CDI version) and the requirements was that it had to be paired with a Sony CDU33A but I don't recall if that was a speed requirement (doublespeed) or there an actual hardware requirement.
Has anyone tried playing CDI games with the RM and what software have you used to do this?
1 - I burn CDs to use; I have a 386dx40MHz.
2 - I had some similar problems, but when I switched to a SyncMaster 3, the resolution and color issues with the RM were resolved.
3 - I still need to try that; it would be great if it worked with CD-ROMs.
