I wouldn't have the slightest idea how to reconfigure XTIDE

realize your using the XT-IDE board, but in case you use a rom on a nic again. The way to do this is run the xtide config exe with the rom image in dosbox.
Open the rom file you intend to use, make any config changes and save it.
take the saved bin file and flash it onto your rom chip. This process has to be done once anyways since the released images are lacking the checksum.

I would need an EPROM programmer. Realise they're cheap, but I don't have one. I believe removing the XTIDE network card and installing the Glitchworks one freed up a resource conflict which then allowed the CF card to be read at last. I was otherwise going to buy an MFM drive (I know, 🤣).

I was able to write an eeprom using the XTIDE card by putting it in a working computer (that was not booting from the XTide card) and using XTIDECFG.COM

Ok I stand corrected. When (if) I have an hour or two to play I may end up with another usable XTIDE solution in that case. Good to know.

This now has a Trident TVGA9800D-R and an 8087-8MHz co-processor (just for the record).

FIFO off, 8-BIT BIOS jumper enabled, 16-bit slot jumper

enabled.
