I got this NOS (according to seller) motherboard , looked like it was in original packaging (eg antistatic bag with labels on it for the model no etc) and its in as new condition, not even a speck of dust so its believable it was NOS.

RTW link - https://theretroweb.com/motherboards/s/ecs-si54p-vio

I replaced the DALLAS RTC with necroware RTC which I know works on other boards.

I put in a P133 although I know it only supports up to P100 which is fine, I jumpered it for P100 so should work ok.

I tried quite few different RAM sticks I have and various BIOS options I found (one on RTW, few from here on vogons) but the board wont post.

With some BIOSes I tried, there is no beeps, the keyboard does its blink of three LEDs on power on .. thats it, it just sits there.

With the BIOS from RTW, I get these beeps, watch video - https://youtube.com/shorts/1-cYBzfgA7s?feature=share

stock BIOS nothing happens, no beeps.

Any suggestions ? Beeps seem to be 1 - 3 - 4 - 1 and I cant seem to find this sequence to suggest what is wrong.

Thanks in advance !

EDIT: seems I have found my own answer. I loaded the original BIOS and kept trying more RAM sticks until one set finally booted. It looks like its very picky!

here is the RAM that worked jsut for anyones reference in future, both sticks are single sided:

I will compare the BIOS on RTW and if mine is different, will upload there.

According to TRW the riser is proprietary and it needs to be the one that came with the mainboard, and it's an ISA only riser

Ok thanks.

Can I insert a 16 bit sound card into the riser directly (without the bracket) ? Or would that not work?

I just think this could be a neat simple dos box to play 99% of games easily. Has great video card, ps/2 connectors etc
