I had the good fortune of picking up some new old stock parts over the last couple months, and want to show off the latest build.
Mainboard: BFG VNF4 Ultra
CPU: Athlon 64 4000+ 2.4GHz, San Diego core
Memory: Mushkin PC3200 Level 2 V2 Samsung TCCD memory
SSD: Samsung 860 Pro 256GB MLC
GPU: BFG 8800GT OC
Sound: X-Fi Fatal1ty
Optical: Plextor PX-760A
PSU: PC Power and Cooling Silencer 500W
Cooling: Cooler Master 80mm full copper
Case: Silverstone Fara 513
Intake fans: Dead Silence 120mm blue LED fans (goes with the blue PCB theme nicely, but not silent)
The mainboard, memory, PSU, GPU and cooler were all new and unused. Still working on getting the newest BIOS sorted out using the Chaintech files, but so far the caps seem to be fine and the VRM runs cool enough at stock speeds. I may swap the chipset cooler for my Swiftech MCX159Cu instead depending on how warm it runs when the HT speed gets increased. The only other issue I've discovered is that the SATA runs only in IDE mode and not AHCI as that seems to be reserved for later Nforce chipsets, despite being rated at SATA-2 speeds. Thankfully the Samsung SSD is fine with it. The only other thing I might do is add one of my I/O bracket mounted Lamptron fan controllers if the system makes too much noise.
I'll overclock the CPU and benchmark the system in the coming days or weeks.
