Hi everyone,
I hope this is okay to ask here.. If it’s not allowed, please let me know and I’ll remove it.
I’m trying to get my own game, properly set up and running in DOSBox, but I’ve hit a wall and haven’t been able to get everything configured correctly. At this point, I’m honestly looking for someone experienced with DOSBox who would be willing to set it up for me or walk me through it directly. It is a retro-style online multiplayer game inspired by early 2000s web based and Director/Shockwave-era games. It was originally built using Adobe/Macromedia Director, and the project includes files like .dir, .exe, and .dcr...
The game uses Director’s Lingo scripting for gameplay logic, UI, and networking structure. It was designed with multiplayer in mind (OpenSMUS), and the Windows executable version was exported to run as a standalone projector.
Because it was built with older technology, I’m trying to get it running properly in a DOSBox-based or legacy Windows environment for compatibility and testing. My goal is to recreate that early-2000s online game experience while keeping the original architecture intact.
I completely understand that this takes time and effort, and I’m more than willing to compensate you for your help if that’s appropriate.
If anyone is interested or can point me in the right direction, please feel free to message me.
Thank you 🙏
