Does it means that mouse not detected on a reboot is fixed too ?

No, I'm looking at that now. Took me a while to find a PC that did it!

Also will be great to support gamepad buttons reconfiguration, sadly many games not allow changing keys.
If we could for each buttons choose the corresponding keys it will be great.

Not too many people use gamepads so it's always been low priority in my mind. But I'd really like to get that feature added too.

Normally i prefer using keyboard only too but some games have very weirds keybinds like Batman Forever (the 2D game not the arcade one) who using numpad buttons from keyboard only and cannot be changed.
So for thoses games only a gamepad will be a game changer.

Turns out hidman gets confused if you move the mouse while rebooting. Should be an easy-enough fix but as a workaround in the meantime just make sure to avoid nudging the mouse while rebooting 😀

Btw i've reverted back to v1.1.6, i had some issues still with the 1.1.7beta :

- Caps Lock still not goes from uppercase to lowercase, only uppercase (once pressed it's always in uppercase and not setting back to lowercase). Only pressing shift put it back to lowercase.
- Media Keys still not working (none of them, tested wheel, play, stop, previous and next) on my Logitech G910 under Windows 98.
- None of the keyboard LED react but i've saw it's a known new bug added and it's shown on github
- I have the keyboard who now no longuer responds if the mouse is also not responding (was not the case before with 1.1.6).

I've also compiled your lastest commit "Hopefully fixed mouse reset issue" but no changes for mouse reboot issue on my side.

Hi - is the CH559T one-time-programmable? I built a Hidman-micro and worked fine, then I blew it up when connecting it to an industrial PC. I replaced the CH559T on the tiny PCB and the software detected it fine but failed to program it. Now it does not matter what I do, the Hidman-micro is no longer detected by the software. I think it bricked, this is the version with the push button to force the CH559T into firmware update, but that does not work either. Any suggestions?

What binary did you program to it? hidman micro isn't supported by the default binaries

I'm really looking forward to being able to set HID gamepad controls to specific keys. Among the small geek communities I'm active at, discussion about using gamepads in DOS has been growing recently, but the legacy options are few.

I recently got a HIDman and am using it in a setup with an ATEN CS1784A (DVI + USB KVM). It wasn’t entirely straightforward to make it work (beacuse of the KVM I guess), so here’s what worked for me in case it helps someone using a similar KVM switch (HIDman firmware 1.1.6):

First, I connected everything without changing anything. It didn’t work. I then tried an older, simpler USB keyboard, still no luck.

The KVM has an emulation layer for keyboard and mouse when they are connected to the dedicated console ports (to support hotkeys for switching between machines). In addition, it has two “regular” USB ports. I tried connecting only the keyboard to one of the regular USB ports on the KVM (not the dedicated keyboard port). Suddenly, the keyboard worked. However, as soon as I plugged the mouse into the second regular USB port, neither the mouse nor keyboard worked again.

There is a BIOS option on the Pentium system under boot settings, Turbo or Deturbo for the boot process. It was set to Turbo. After switching it to Deturbo, both keyboard and mouse started working reliably through the KVM. POST and boot now take longer, but this seems to give HIDman enough time to initialize properly.

Now I tried the modern keyboard again, a Ducky One 3, but changed the setting in HIDman to advanced keyboard. This time it worked together with the mouse when connected directly into HIDman, but only keyboard worked when connected through the KVM.

I also tested firmware v1.1.7beta1, because of its improved hub support, but that made the setup not work anymore (also for the older keyboard together with the mouse that had worked before). Reverting back to 1.1.6 restored the previous working state for the old keyboard + mouse.

Any suggestions for getting the Ducky keyboard + mouse combination to work with HIDman through the KVM? Combination older usb keyboard + same mouse works..

That’s interesting information. I’m using a very similar KVM and a ducky keyboard. I could not get my setup working at all. Will look at your points.

Maybe if you post a log the developer might be able to help.

I meant that I am using the HIDman-mini by Serisman, so I downloaded the binaries from his GitHub. I built one, and it worked well until I blew it up on an industrial half-size PCISA card. Those boards have a combined keyboard/mouse connector that is not standard, and it burned my HIDman-mini. I know I damaged it because I was using it with my WeeCee, and eventually only the mouse worked while the keyboard stopped working.

My problem is that I have replaced the CH559T chip twice, and both failed to be programmed. One was not detected at all, and the other was detected but failed during programming and apparently became bricked. The HIDman-mini has a push button to force it into fw update but that does not work either.

My original CH559T (the one that worked) was sourced from UTsource, but they do not carry them anymore. I bought some from AliExpress instead; perhaps they are counterfeit, as they seem to be completely unusable.

I think it should be able to work, as I was playing around with settings and set the mouse to advanced as well and after a reboot both mouse and keyboard (ducky) was working through the KVM. But only once. I have not been able to replicate the result.

Another thing I've noticed: when connecting both mouse and the ducky keyboard directly to the HIDman, the keyboard have to be in the upper USB-port on the HIDman. Otherwise it will not work.

I have attached a log from HIDman where both the ducky keyboard and the mouse is connected to the KVM, and I pulled out and reinserted the USB cable into the HIDman.

Would it be possible to provide compiled binaries for HIDman-mini and HIDman-micro in future releases?
