Inspired by thread https://forum.planet3dnow.de/index.php?thread … -phenom.324687/ from German forum I decided to make updated version of it. Most of links are dead now, and since 2007 some boards got newer beta BIOS for newer CPUs. I thought it might be useful for some users of older ASRock AM2 (not AM2+, just old AM2) boards to use Quad-Core (or even Hexa-Core) CPUs, especially when beta BIOS versions are not avaible on official ASRock site.

ATi chipset:

ALiveXFire-eSATA2 [ATi CrossFire Xpress 1600 (RD480) + ATi SB600]
P4.00 (official) - up to Phenom II X4 965 (125W).
L3.71z (beta) - Phenom II X6 (95W) works, 125W untested. Phenom II x4 960T works too.

ULi chipset:

ALiveDual-eSATA2 [ULi M1695 + NVIDIA nForce 3 250]
P1.90 (official) - up to Phenom II X4 965 (125W).
P1.90z (beta) - might support Phenom II X6, didn't tested yet.

AM2XLI-eSATA2 [ULi M1697]
L1.43 (beta) - up to Phenom II X4 955 (95W).

VIA chipset:

ALiveSATA2-GLAN [VIA K8T890 + VT8237A]
L2.61 REV:7 (beta) - up to Phenom II X4 955 (95W).
L2.72 (beta) - unknown, lost media. (possibly it never existed)

AM2V890-VSTA [VIA K8T890 + VT8237A]
L2.61 REV:7 (hack) - up to Phenom II X4 955 (95W).

NVIDIA chipset:

ALiveNF5-eSATA2+ [NVIDIA nForce 520]
P2.10 (official) - up to Phenom X4 9950 (125W).
L2.15 (beta) - up to Phenom II X4 980 (125W).

ALiveNF5-VSTA [NVIDIA nForce 520]
P2.40 (official) - up to Phenom II X4 925 (95W), but everything up to Phenom II X4 955 (95W) should run.
L2.41 (beta) - unknown, lost media.
L2.42 (beta) - unknown, lost media.

ALiveNF5SLI-1394 [NVIDIA nForce 4 SLI, rebranded as nForce 560 SLI]
P1.50 (official) - up to Phenom X4 9850 (125W).
L1.53 (beta) - up to Phenom II X4 980 (125W).

AM2NF3-VSTA [NVIDIA nForce 3 250]
P3.30 (official) - up to Phenom II X4 970, but Phenom II X4 975 and 980 works too. If problems with booting with a Phenom II exists, use P3.20 BIOS version.

ALiveNF4G-DVI [NVIDIA nForce 430 Dual-Chip]
L1.41 (hack) - Phenom X4 9500 and 9600, but everything up to Phenom II X4 955 (95W) works.

AM2NF4G-SATA2 [NVIDIA nForce 430 Dual-Chip]
L1.31 (beta) - Phenom X4 9500 and 9600, but everything up to Phenom II X4 955 (95W) works.

ALiveNF6G-VSTA [NVIDIA nForce 430 Single-Chip]
P2.20 (official) - Phenom X4 9500 and 9600.
L2.26 (beta) - everything up to Phenom II X4 980 (125W) should work.

ALiveNF6G-DVI [NVIDIA nForce 430 Single-Chip]
L2.28 (beta) - Phenom II X4 955 (125W) tested, everything up to Phenom II X4 980 (125W) should work.

AM2NF6G-VSTA [NVIDIA nForce 430 Single-Chip]
L2.39 (beta) - Phenom II X4 970 (125W) tested, everything up to Phenom II X4 980 (125W) should work.

ALiveNF6G-GLAN [NVIDIA nForce 430 Single-Chip]
P1.80 (official) - up to Phenom II X4 955 (125W).

ALiveNF7G-HDready [NVIDIA nForce 630a]
P2.10 (official) - Phenom X4 9500 and 9600, but everything up to Phenom II X4 955 (95W) should work.
L2.16 (beta) - unknown, lost media.
L2.19 (beta) - unknown, lost media.
L2.1A (beta) - unknown, lost media.

L2.1Y (beta) - unknown, lost media.

ALiveNF7G-HD720p [NVIDIA nForce 630a]
P2.20 (official) - up to Phenom X4 9750, but everything up to Phenom II X4 955 (95W) should work.
L2.24 (beta) - unknown, lost media.

Beta BIOS versions in attachment.

Thank you for nicely organizing/sorting through all of these.

I have a AM2NF4G-SATA2 and would definitely try to see if it can take an Athlon II X2 or X4 CPU when I get to it... that is, if the board even works. I got it for $0.50 - literally as a piece of scrap. Lots of damaged stuff on it, but won't let it go to e-waste heaven (or rather, my donor parts pile) just yet. 😀

Athlon II X4 works fine with this BIOS, but with unknown CPU name. I also tested Phenom II X2 and... no POST, i am not sure why tho. Phenom X3 and Phenom II X4 works too with unknown CPU name. Didn't tested Phenom II X3 , Athlon II X3, Athlon II X2 and K10 based Athlon X2. Phenom II X6 obviously does not work 🤣.

I have just tested ALiveDual-eSATA2 with Phenom II X6 1090T BE, it doesn't work. 1.90Z BIOS does nothing regarding Thuban support. It just adds more levels for the "Target Fan Speed" under "CPU Quiet Fan" option.
