I got a ASUS P/I-P55T2P4 Rev. 3.1 that sometimes (not all the time) when I reset the computer from windows 95 it goes to black screen and freezes. If I turn off and on, it boots properly. Always works from 1st try from the on-off switch. Also, when i exit bios, it sometimes exhibit the same behavior: Exist bios -> black screen -> doesn't initiate post -> freeze until power off - power on.
I did a full recap as one cap was bulged but it didn't fix the problem. Anyone else encountered similar issue and how to fix it?

Anyone got this issue also and got it fixed? I thought it might be more common. Maybe the bios chip needs cleaning with de-oxide, maybe it's not initializing properly sometimes? Or maybe is it because I'm using an ATX PSU with ATX-AT adapter and it acts weirdly when reseting? Maybe loose pins on the main chip. Any ideas?

Have you checked all the voltages from the PSU?
The ones in the reset circuit?

I had this issue with a 775 board, the culprit was a very tiny 0302 cap. It was the reboot command from the OS.
After replacing it reboot works all the time.

If I'm not wrong, the reset command is issued by a specific chip and if something is wrong in between it will behave like you described.
IDK if it comes from the ICS or the SIO.
