What is the connected memory pin for?

I needed to connect the A10 GPU line to the A10 contacts on the memory chips. I did this with thin 0.06 mm enameled wire, securing it to the board with UV-curable varnish.

Very nice work!
Will you try to overclock the card with the new memory?
I've found that despite the faster memory and the infinite possibilites due to the straps the overclock on my card was quite disappointing.

I'm a big believer in taking good care of your equipment. Too many devices have been ruined by overclocking enthusiasts. I repair graphics cards and hate to see the aftermath of overclocking.

Woah, very nice indeed! It will be interesting to see if there are any cases where this leads to a noticable uplift in performance.

I remember I did some brief tests, the performance difference was negligible, while it was noticeable from 4mb to 8mb. I suppose my tests are some pages back

Hello, I've got two Canopus TOTAL3D V1000 cards a long time ago and finaly decided to attach one to a dedicated PC.
It's an overclocked Cyrix MII on a FIC VA-502. This platform was famous for being very fast for its price, but not so much in 3D. I figured it was a nice platform to get the most out of the V1000, since it is less dependent on the CPU's 3D performance than most other cards of its era.

Since this thread focuses more on discussions about the second generation, I had trouble finding information.
- Can you recommend any games that make good use of this card? Apart from Tomb Raider.
- Has anyone managed to get overclocking to work reliably and keeping good compatibility with games with recent drivers?
Please, no comments on the act of overclocking itself. I know it's not rational, but getting the most out of vintage hardware is part of the fun for me.

Very cool! I picked up a Total3D several years ago. Interestingly, I also found a 3rd party 3D shutter glasses kit called Nuvision 3D Spex that seems to use the exact same glasses as the Total3D (as shown in these pictures). I haven't had a chance to test the card with the glasses, but it's on my to-do list. It seems like 3D Spex kits show up somewhat frequently online, and I think some are listed for sale on the usual auction site right now (in the US though).

EDIT: That link to a Japanese Yahoo Auctions listing is probably not going to stay up forever, so I have saved and attached the pictures to this post for posterity. I don't think the Total3D used this packaging in the US, but the rest of the kit is probably very similar and the Nuvision glasses are even shown in the box art.

I Repeat: These are not my pictures, I do not own this stuff... sadly. 😀

Thanks for this post!
It's nice to see what it was like back then. I also have the glasses, but I haven't bothered to try them yet. I tested the 3D audio features, it's reminiscent of the 3Dfx pass-through VGA cable, but for audio with jack cables.
But I didn't notice any difference and it had no impact on game performance, so I think something didn't work. I can't remember if I tried it with the included games or with other games, so I'll try it with the included games in case it only works with those.

Hello guys! I am sorry if i dug up an old threat but i got a hold of a V1000 Myro Crystal VRX and it seems it is only working with the Microsoft windows 95 driver (from the fresh win 95 installation). If i try to update it to any new version it freezes. Is there a solution? does it require a special driver or my card could be bugged? Thanks 😀

I don't know what your cpu is, but v1000 has issues with Athlon xp and newer with newer drivers. The drivers with rredline support will freeze win98 when rendering file explorer or control panel. Redline support will work as long as you run apps from the command line. The win98se stock driver for v1000 will also work fine but without rredline support. Direct3d may work, depending on the mfc 32.dll version you've got.

This has been my experience on a p4 3.2 ghz (last Intel chipset with ddma support) . I found a thread right here on vogons about v1000 having issues with Athlon xp, but can't seem to find it anymore.

The V2000 works fine on any cpu with any set of drivers, though mfc dll can sometimes cause issues.

I tried with pentium 233 MMX and 64 mb of ram. Windows 98, ME and 95. The only time that does not freeze is when i install 95 (so when using the 96 driver from microsoft). Any other driver freezes the card before showing any image from desktop. Do you have by any chance a link with a new driver that you know 100% works with Myro Crystal VRX?

Thanks!

I only have the drivers listed on vogonsdrivers.com. I have a 3D Blaster Pci and I've tried all the v1000 drivers there include the creative ones. Only ms and the CD based creative drivers (pre-rredline) work on that. Turning down acceleration down by two notches will also help things, but I guess you need to boot into windows first.

With the rredline drivers, I get no-signal for 30 seconds before the desktop shows up. That might be because of my cheap vga->hdmi converter or maybe not.

I don't know whether that's your problem, but I would try waiting for up to a minute to see if the desktop showsup. Also try win98se, that comes with a newer v1000 ms driver. It does have rredline dlls, but they don't seem to work.

I tried win 98 SE, freezes at log in. The only OS that boots fully is 95. Sometimes i get artifacts in 98, very few if any in 95. I tried installing directx 6 in 95 and it said it has a newer driver, i updated and after reboot i got that image with green artifacts. I also uploaded a pic with the info it gives during POST.

In 95 which has a driver from 96 i managed to run Final Reality but with the msg that no direct3d card available of course.

I do not know what else to do. 🙁

Does the card work with Speedy3D games under dos? There was a miro v1k demo for dos called ucube with animated textures.

I also happen to have a miro v1k bios, if you'd like to try flashing it. I don't know if it's for your card, it may fry your card.

In this zip file [url]https://nirvtek.com/downloads/RReady.Al ... 001.7z[url]

There should be a mirov1k. Vbi file in the root folder. I don't have a separate download for it, yet.
