You can search with Molex 15-48-0106 and that should give you the motherboard male connectors. PSU side plugs are 90331.

Doesn't look that bad, desolder the pins clean and solder them back in.

That yielded some results.....but unfortunately all obsolete / discontinued / gone....atleast by the big parts houses like mouser & digikey.

I was thinking that too. I've also got some old supermicro slot based AT server board (no AGP) that doesnt work I could nab one off of. I'll be soldering on it one way or another to address this and of course recapping it.

It doesn't actually surprise me. There probably hasn't been much use for these connectors since early P4 motherboards. I guess some other electronics can use these, but I find it likely that demand for these pretty much died in early 2002.

It's not like they break easy. You would have much more interest in the keyboard connector since they tend to rot from leaking batteries or get mechanical damage (the metal face is soldered to the motherboard and keyboard won't work if there is no connection).

I tend to keep broken motherboards in boxes in the garage so down the road I can scavenge chips or mechanical parts when they are hard to find. What is common as dirt now will be hard to find in 10-20 years since everything goes straight to the recycler now and not people's basements.

I too keep strange things around just because of the chances of needing something I know may be dead/gone a few years later.

This board didn't have a varta battery leak; it has a Dallas 12887 on it....so no damage like that. I do have 2x Supermicro P6DNE dual skt8's that were wrecked by Varta. I never could get them to work. Tragic. 🙁

I did contemplate removing the AT KB connector and replacing it with the PS2, and adding the PS2 mouse plug as well....but I don't have any cases that have the PS2 IO area for that....not that I couldn't drill holes or something... I believe there was actually a thread here covering that, as a matter of fact on this model board!

This thread suggests Molex 26-60-4060 as a suitable in-production replacement but I can't personally vouch for its suitability

All done. I also recapped it. I left the 1000uF 10v Nichicon PL(M) caps in place, I don't think I've ever seen one fail in my 30+ years of component level service. I only replaced the 330uF; some junk brand 85* w/ crappy bungs.

I was curious, so I checked them on the LCR. Reading high, flirting with the 20% tolerance but not out....but with their age and poor quality, adios!

...and done... Board cleaned up and ready for whatever build I figure out. Replacement RTC on the way.

Now this mod really has my attention, so now I need to track down the PS2 ports....

A quick search did show a few...but unlike HM and HN, they weren't a historically problematic series.....but yea, I'll go ahead and replace them anyway. It's not like I don't have a nice stash of capacitors still. Cheap insurance.

Went ahead and replaced the Nichicon PL's. Datecoded wk44 of 1997. LCR had them dead nuts on; comfortably in tolerances.....but I wasn't going to reinstall ~30yr old caps. PL was never a problematic series from Nichicon....but it's done.

New RTC also came in, so I can save settings now and actually boot from optical media....so retest time.

...and off to the races with this twinturbo snail!

I found the PS2 port, they're on the way. I also have some appropriate heatsinks on the way; some OEM Intel coolers intended for Medocino celerons; they're a nice upgrade for anything skt7.... I have a few NOS TT Golden Orbs, but that's a waste for these processors.

FWIW, one thing I've noticed about the S1564 is that for some reason they fail memtest when all 8 slots are populated. My other one does this as well.

Just thought I'd show the finished product, I finally got around to finishing up the motherboard. Fully recapped, damaged AT connector replaced, and matching heatsinks installed. I did not do the PS2 keyboard & mouse ports (I did get them though) until I select a case; some cases don't fit them well. Beautiful resto of a 'left for dead' board.

I hate skt7 era heatsink/fans....always thin with junky fans. The best thing are OEM fans intended for Mendocino celerons, fits a PPGA pentium classic like a glove and provides great cooling for such a light duty CPU (compared to a mendocino)...and the fan won't be rattling & falling apart like the cheapies.

No build in mind yet....but I'll come up with it. These pair nicely with matrox millennium video cards and voodoo1 cards...with NT4 of course.
