Hello,

I’m having a problem with a Windows 95 4.00.950 B system using a Cirrus Logic GD5446. I was running Doom 95 when it suddenly crashed with an error mentioning DirectX, then the computer rebooted. Since then, every time I start Windows 95 I get the error message shown in the attached image, and the display no longer works properly, like it won't work on anything other than 16 color on 640x480.

I have already tried removing the display adapter and monitor entries in Safe Mode and reinstalling the video drivers, but the problem remains. I have not tried a fill system reinstall and would like to avoid that if possible but I can if there's no other option.

Has anyone seen this before, or have any suggestions for what else I should try?
