I have recently put together a nice P3 1Ghz build with an ABit AB-VH6-II motherboard, 2 x 256MB PC133 ram, SB Live! and TNT2 Ultra 32MB running Windows 98.

great board, super quick, Windows flies, love it.
Issue is, I want to be able to play Glide based games using Voodoo 2. I have multiple V2 cards and I tried 4 different cards (which I now are working ok in other systems) and the system behaves same in each case. I put the card in, Win 98 detects it, I install the drivers (I tried all drivers from Phils website) , card is detected, it shows in Device Manager as working.
Problem is, the whole system starts behaving strangely. eg simple stuff like right click on desktop to go to Video card properties/ settings doesnt work, its like its trying to execute it and slow down a lot, eg when I try to click start takes while for menu to come up so its trying to do something but the video card properties dont come up.
when I run a game like UT99 which offers choice of rendering device and select either my D3D card or 3dfx GL (they both appear as options) the game starts loading and then freezes. The whole computer. If voodoo 2 is not present , everything works perfectly.
I tried different RAM sticks, different HDDs, reinstalled 2-3 times, same each time.
Is there any specific setting in BIOS I need to look out for ? Only thing I havent tried is different AGP video card , perhaps there is conflict wit the TNT2 Ultra?
Would love to hear some suggestions as this would be a perfect build in my collection if I can have V2 in it as well.
