Self explanatory. After the video ends, the game terminates with an error that it was unable to restore the video mode.
The videos are restored using ffdshow.

I installed the original CD (or DVD) version of the game but I cannot reproduce it. The initial video plays and then the main menu appears properly, no error message.
Do you have something in the dgVoodoo log if you run it with the _dbg version?

The CD doesn't use MPEG2 videos that cause the problem. Only the DVD has it. As to my analysis, the game unfocuses when the video runs, atleast in ffdshow, which later crashes the game.
