Hello. Recently I found the two patches, that make it possible to have mt32 and adlib sounds in monkey island 1&2. I searched for a similar patch for Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis. Until now I haven't found anything. Does a patch exist for this game or is there another way to get both sound devices working?

Are you talking about having music for the MT-32 and SFX or voice with the Adlib? I don't think that's remotely possible and in order to get the SFX and voices, you would need the Fate of Atlantis CD-ROM.

No. I don't mean the talkie version. I just mean effects like the breaking glass when Indy first appears in the intro.. and so on... For now it is not possible to hear both Roland mt32 music and those effects. Monkey island has the same problem until a patch is applied.

The special versions for the powermac do not have fm and do not support mt32.
would be nice to know how they perform (missing effects/music or all FM/Adlib redone in SFX?)

I checked it in ScummVM. They managed it to playback everything - Roland sound as well as FM Effects.

It's embarrassing. But it seems that Fate of Atlantis works with Roland and FM sounds without a patch. I will tell more about later... But: obviously there is no need for a patch. 😐

The command would be atlantis s r or something thereof. I completely forgot about that and it would've helped if I opened the batch file to see what the command is.

Ya... These are possible parameters. But I realized that these parameters aren't necessary. I started the game by just typing in ATLANTIS. All available devices are activated.
I must say I just listened carefully enough. First I thought it is the fix I recently used for my Soundblaster 16. But it seems it just was my inattention. Whateva. There are a few settings to do. Effects are too silent compared to Music. Will have a look at that later.

Hello everyone.

Sorry for waking up that old one..
The years have passed by and I left retro gaming terrain for quite a while. Means I as well didn't follow this Indiana Jones sound setting topic.

But now I wanna make a new attempt and at first I have to admit that I didn't listen that carefully the first time. Unfortunately for both (Floppy and Talkie version) I still can't achieve mixed sound mode - mt32 music and adlib sound effects. Don't know why I thought I got it.. 🤷
However I heard of a way to get both working with the GOG version of Fate of Atlantis via ScummVM. Can someone confirm this?

@bjwil1991 - the command you suggested works but it always seem to make use of the last input (e.g. typing in s r gives Roland only, r s gives Soundblaster only). The native game engine isn't able to support both at the same time.

So back to scratch.. I will give this GOG version a try. But if anyone else has a solution for the floppy or CD versions - I'm all ears.
