Thank you! Let me know how the HID works for you. Even though HID is mostly generic there are still some edge cases that are hard to fix. The implementation for OPL3 is still being worked out btw. There is some more concern discovered that it isn't producing all of the operators that an OPL3 needs so it still might need an upgrade in hardware for full compatibility.
Interesting problem i have now. I got picogus and xtide in same computer and the xtide wont work at all. Need to figure this out, are they using same irq or what?

When you say the xtide won't work, do you mean it acts like it is there at all? Or the option rom fires but it can't see drives?

I have both running, no probs.
Run RAYXTIDE (https://minuszerodegrees.net/xtide/RAYXTIDE/RAYXTIDE.htm) to give you an indication of what the issue may be.
Yeah it disapear, and wont do nothing. Computer also "peeps" error code no hard drive.

The packard bell have really bad ide controller so im trying to figure better option for it.

I dont know if is normal the output of wavetable is MONO if i plug the speaker in PicoGUS jack output, but if i plug in wavetable own jack is stereo...
Another thing is bothered me, is the wavetable add some noise, this is normal? is not too much, but is noticeable

It's not normal, wavetable output from the audio jack should be stereo. I can't think of any reason this would happen except if the wavetable module is outputting mono via the header connection. Assuming you already have stereo from GUS or CD audio from the PicoGUs jack.
If all audio from the jack output is mono, that would probably be a compatibility issue with the plug being used, in case it is a 4 contact plug in some cases they can work improperly with 3 contact sockets

The wavetable header connection is analog audio, so it is unavoidable to add some noise. The amount of noise depends on the quality of the DAC on the wavetable card. I have a WP32 McCake which has custom analog circuitry and there is only a small amount of extra noise, almost nothing. So I think Dreamblaster did a good job with the audio path.

I have noticed that as you add more images to the USB drive, the performance of data reads seems to reduce. I don't think it's fragmentation as some of the first images put on the drive now run slower than they did before. IIRC wavetable connector has its own output lines that gets mixed to the sound card's output jack... Assuming other output from PicoGUS itself (GUS/SB) is fine, this is likely on the side of PicoGUS' wavetable connector to whatever responsible for mixing the audio. I don't have PicoGUS 2.0 so I can't be really sure.
WavetablePi should be fine as long as its own jack can output stereo. As for the noise, are you using Pi's onboard audio out (pwm mode), or a PCM5102A module (i2s mode, which has its own jack)? My own WavetablePi assemblies use PCM5102A module and I haven't really noticed any apparent noise. Maybe the quality of components used (e.g. resistors and caps) can also affect the final output.

If i use line in in a SB16 is more or less OK because normal noise of card, but with my AWE64 Gold is incredible noisy, because the gold have a very clean output

I had a look at the design of the Wavetable Pi
When the external DAC is installed, the onboard headphone jack is hardwired to the external DAC output. The wavetable header audio signal is selectable between external DAC and the RPi's PWM pin audio output (noisy). So make sure the audio jumpers are set to use the external DAC for the wavetable audio output.
Also I think it is possible to set the pins accidentally so left and right are shorted, which would only affect the wavetable header output and not the headphone jack

The pwm/i2s configuration on the mt32-pi side needs to match as well. If the jumpers and the configuration don't match there would be no sound at all.
And maybe try tweaking parameters like sampling rate and fluidsynth gain to see if these make any difference.

Here is a diagram showing the path of the audio signal on the WavetablePi board, from the DAC module's jack to the wavetable connector. If you are able to trace it (e.g. with a multimeter), you could confirm whether or not the continuity exists for the DAC's audio signal to make it back to the PicoGUS.
The Wavetable Pi is also noisy in my experience. Had those "computer thinking" noises. Tried some fixes from the GIT repository but no cigar.
