Okay, my MT-32 has arrived! It’s all connected up and it’s powered, but I think I’m still missing something. I’m not sure if I ever asked about the red and white output cables…? Those are coming from my speakers and are connected to my SC-55, but… how would I go about hooking them/some up to the MT-32…? Do I need to daisy-chain between both modules?

You mean the audio cables? If you want to hook up both the SC-55 and MT-32 at the same time, this is where you need a mixer or audio switcher.

Otherwise, you'll have to unplug the SC-55 and hook up the MT-32 in its place.

Ahhhh. Okay. For some reason I was under the impression both could be hooked up together, but you have to toggle between them depending on the game and its setup. But thanks. I’ll have to look into that next. For now, I’ll disconnect the SC-55 so I can test it. 😀

Also, does it require totally different audio cables? It doesn’t look like the standard red and white ones connect.

Okay, just watched Phil’s video. Looks like I’ll need to get an adapter or two. I don’t think I have what’s needed in my cable/adapter collection.

Yes, the MT-32 uses 6.35mm audio jacks. Whereas the SC-55 uses RCA jacks.

Yeah. Makes sense though considering how old the MT-32 is. In fact, as old as me. ^^ I've ordered those 6.35mm to RCA adapters. I think there's about six of them.

The 6 channel is narrower than the SC-55, the 10 channel is about as wide as the SC-55, perhaps ever so slightly wider. They're much smaller than pro mixers.

These 6/10 channel mixers use 6.35mm stereo jacks, so you'll need a 6.35mm stereo to dual RCA cable for the SC-55 and a 6.35mm stereo to dual mono 6.35mm for the MT-32.

You can get 6.35mm to 3.5mm adapters, but you're introducing more connection points and thus increasing the chance of ground loops and bad connections. Rather get cables like those linked above to minimise the chances of bad connections.

The brand/labeling doesn't matter. These are all the same sort of Chinese hardware that shows up on Amazon often under a variety of "brands".

Looking them up on Alibaba, they're listed as the "Enping Guanyi Electroacoustic Equipment Factory".

I see. Huh. Interesting. Are these known to be any good? I just wouldn't want to get something that does the job, but only for so long until they go wrong.

I have no idea as to the quality of those.

I've only used the Edirol (Roland) mixers on my setups.
