Does anyone remember these? I've searched and searched, but cannot find anything and feel like I'm losing my mind.
I remember in the late 90s or early 2000s stumbling upon a series of totally bizarre Sony Aibo ads online. They all took place in a bar, with an extremely socially awkward guy interacting with other people at the bar. Sometimes he'd have his Aibo on the bar walking around.
In one ad, a stereotypical "hillbilly" with an underbite and a speech impediment sits next to him and asks him about the Aibo on the bar. The owner of Aibo says something like, "This is Aibo, my robot friend!" The hillbilly replies, "Happy to make a friend!"
In another, the guy is flirting with a girl at the bar. His Aibo is at home, so when she asks about it, he has to show her a feed from his web camera at home. It shows a hallway with a filthy mattress at the end of it; the mattress suddenly stands up, and starts shuffling toward the camera with some dramatic music playing in the background. The scene switches back to the bar and the guy shouts, "I SAW SOMETHING I SHOULDN'T HAVE SEEN!"

This all sounds insane, but I remember these ads very clearly. However, I simply cannot find anything about them when I search (not helped by how awful searching is now). Does anyone else remember these ads???
