Hello,

My ATI Rage 128 Pro AGP has failed (jail bars on the screen) and I wanted to replace it with a PC version that I could flash but apparently I bought the wrong model.
I went on eBay and bought an ATI Rage Pro 128 16MB, model "ATi Rage 128 PRO Ultra GL" (https://theretroweb.com/expansioncards/s/ati- … 28-pro-ultra-gl)
However ChatGPT seems to tell me this GPU won't work as the BUS size is 64bits compared to 128bits for the Mac card and the PC card uses DDR RAM chips instead of SDRAM.

Do you guys know if I could find a Firmware that would fit this PC card to run on my PowerMac G4 Sawtooth?

My faulty GPU is the ATI Rage 128 GL AGP and most likely it has bad VRAM (https://theretroweb.com/expansioncards/s/ati- … -128-pro-agp-2x)
Worth case scenario, I could buy VRAM chips if I can locate some on Aliexpress.

I want to use this GPU to boot OS9.2.2 to do some retro gaming like WC2 or SimCity2000 so I don't need the fastest card, instead I'd prefer a slower one.
Will swapping the Rom chip from the Mac card to the PC card make the PC GPU simply work even at a slow speed?

I am comfortable doing micro-soldering FYI.

Thanks for your input.

Perhaps this site has the answer - http://themacelite.wikidot.com

Also if you google for example 'flash mac bios to ATi Rage 128 PRO Ultra GL' you will find some other threads about this but they seem to be unresolved
