It doesn't feel as nightmarish.

I recall 2017-2018, I need to open an app that apparently "needs an update" and the update never finishes. I try to download an app and does it start? I don't know, the status bar said nothing. PC freezing, store freezing. You can't even search stuffs without being thrown in a loop.

The current Store, at least for a few years now, looks usable. It does tell you the status of your installation/update, it opens faster for sure and definitely feels responsive.

What are your experiences?

how I feel about the modern microsoft store is that i block it and remove it. get that shit outta my windows. This is why i waited for the steam launch of PSO2, not worth blowing away a good win7 install for 10 to get it while it's exclusive on the windows store (also then it was so hard to install/update, it'd often redo the whole 100gb download again if one file is wrong and becomes an ouroboros of bandwidth quota destroying)

FUCK "AI". It is a tool of fascism. We do not need it. We do not use it.

Rarely used it. There's no reason for me to go there. Even if I did, it would only be for free stuff.

Custom executable types that arent normal win32/win64, and so cant be run anywhere else, for no real technical reason.

Forced coupling with microsoft accounts required.

Ad ridden.

Applications are very easy to break on accident, or on their own, due to how fragile their version control/integrity checking is. (Goodness, your copy of inkscape might be out of date! What's that, you messed with settings and plugins, and now it broke? Oh no! Too bad reinstallation doesnt really fix things!)

Generally slow.

Need I go on, or should I mention how it's a lacklustre walled garden on a platform that was historically open, and that the new owners really just want to fleece your wallet because Apple does?

I switched to Linux as my daily driver ages ago to escape that hell.

How do you feel about those overpriced home goods shops for millennial women that just sell Temu stuff marked up 1000%?

m$ what? To me this corporation is long time dead and deeply buried, if you know what I mean.

So, how do I feel about anything useless or even harmful? I don't feel anything, sorry 😀

Never actually used it since... Windows 8.1, I want to say?
on my last Windows install I didn't even use an MS account, so I couldn't even use the store anyway.

The only good thing about the Microsoft Store is that a few games bought there support Impulse Trigger Vibration on Xbox controllers. Rise of the Tomb Raider is one such example.

But that's a very minor benefit, and isn't worth all the downsides that come with that store.
