I've been using DosBox Game Launcher for a while, and I have it set up to be completely portable. It uses a portable Java runtime, portable DOSBox installations, and the executable is stored on a network drive so that no matter which computer I'm on, I can just run a shortcut on the desktop and have the whole thing ready to go.
This works fine when I use Windows machines, but now that I'm switching some computers over to Linux, I'm not actually sure how to continue using the same folder. "Portable" installations don't seem to be a thing (at least not with Garuda Linux), so it looks like Dosbox, Dosbox-X, and Java are all going to need to be installed on the Linux machine itself. Is there a way to just copy the Linux shell script into this folder on the network drive and continue using the rest of DBGL like it was? I know I should be able to keep using the existing DOSROOT folder since it uses relative paths, but it seems like I'd need to set up brand new profiles for each game since the Dosbox version paths wouldn't be the same between Windows and Linux.
Does anyone have any tips for how to make this work?
