I have an MSI 694D Pro, and when I went to update the firmware I noticed that most of the later firmwares are for the AR and AIR versions of the board. Howeveri I can not find online any information about what distinguishes the AR and AIR versions aside from having RAID functionality. Are these boards marked differently in any way? My board has a PROMISE PDC20265 ATA100/RAID controller which I assume should be able to do RAID, so is probably either an AR or AIR, but it would be nice to confirm before I brick it 😁

My board does not have an IEEE1394 port, but I guess that may be a header?..

EDIT: Oh wait my board actually DOES have the optional 1394 PH Controller and 1394 Link Layer Controller chips installed so it must be the AIR. Good to know.
