Hi everyone,

Like a lot of classic PC gamers, I've been a huge fan of Fragile Allegiance (and its Amiga predecessor, K240) for decades. There's just something incredibly unique about its blend of real-time 4X strategy, asteroid mining, and the sheer tension of watching a rival faction build a missile silo right next to your most profitable colony.

I’m curious—did anyone else here play it back in the day?

If you did, what were the specific mechanics or feelings you miss the most? For me, it's definitely the sheer dread and devastating loss of getting hit by a rogue asteroid or watching your colony get bombarded by a massive salvo of incoming missiles!

More importantly, if you could go back and improve or change anything about the original game, what would it be?

This shared love for the game actually pushed me to start working on a passion project in Unity. It’s a spiritual successor I'm calling Shattered Allegiance. I’m trying to capture that classic 90s macro/micro management vibe, and hearing your ideas on what needed improving back then would be incredibly helpful as I build out the core systems.

If anyone is interested in following the development journey, or just wants to chat about the glory days of TetraCorp, I've put together a small site. I'd love it if you'd sign up for the comm-link newsletter there to stay updated on our progress: https://www.shatteredallegiance.com/

Looking forward to hearing your ideas!

Cheers.

I made an account just to wish you luck with your game! I literally started playing Fragile Allegiance again, I always end up coming back to it after years and it's still an amazing but flawed game and there's nothing else quite like it after all this time. Shattered Allegiance looks great so far and I can't wait for it to come out! Instant pre-order for me. Please keep everything that was in the original, except for the clunky interface 🤣
