So I just got my first 3d printer 2 weeks ago and it has been amazing for making pieces and parts for my vintage systems.

From Drive bay covers, case mods, drive mounts, adapters, rails.... I've just been able to print what I've needed.

I've even found a good all around beige filament color.

To anyone in this hobby and on the fence getting one.... wait no longer.

I either fix it or break it permanently... there is no try.

Especially the bone white color, it's simply the perfect match for retro computers.

Flashforge Adventurer 5M
AD5M_9.29.webp?v=1760434473&width=700

So far its a great starter setup considering I'm only using it for single color.
Good colors for our hobby seem to be Matte Beige, Bone White and Black

They are very handy, price to quality has matured so fast but most still lack the resolution that I prefer unless its SLA.

I just wish I could figure out cad software more advanced then tinkercad. I can't even drawn a rectangle in Autodesk or Blender.

I bought an Ender 3 V3 SE on special for about $140USD around christmas 2024. I was expecting it to be a novelty and broken in short order considering the low price but it has compeltely surpassed my expectations. I haven't even had any failed prints.

My K6/2+ box is currently sporting an ATX PSU inverter shim, sinitech SDslot bracket and 60mm fan adapter for the CPU as 3d prints.

98/DOS Rig: BabyAT AladdinV, K6-2+/550, V3 2000, 128MB PC100, 20GB HDD, 128GB SD2IDE, SB Live!, SB16-SCSI, PicoGUS, WP32 McCake, iNFRA CD, ZIP100
XP Rig: Lian Li PC-10 ATX, Gigabyte X38-DQ6, Core2Duo E6850, ATi HD5870, 2GB DDR2, 2TB HDD, X-Fi XtremeGamer

I am using eSUN PLA+ Bone White for retro prints. Color is perfect but I dislike the wooden spool which doesn't work nicely with my Bambu Lab AMS (without respooling or using tape etc). So I only use eSUN filament for retro prints.
