Hello! Im new here, but i just love to keep alot of old stuff! I still have my first PC right here rocking an overclocked Athlon XP and its working 25years later, it never broke, how amazing is that?
I guess that's a good introduction, but lets get to the the case.
I just dug out an old graphics card, a broken Sapphire Radeon X1950 AGP from the closet again for repair.
I last tried to repair this card 2 years ago with much less experience and don't quite remember what i did back then, but i guess i was trying to narrow down a suspected short? Which later turned out not being a short (I think i did not understand the AGP slot pinout, Side A vs Side B). Anyway I just now looked at the card under the microscope and found atleast 3 damaged or missing components, 2 small capacitors (C1 and C5) are missing and 1 resistor (R29) is damaged. Now that I have a microscope I can see clearly that the resistor is damaged, one side of the resistor is gone so it wont stick to solder on that side anymore, and i cannot measure the value of it. You can see the positions of the mentioned components on this picture from Retroweb (components are located just above the AGP slot to the right)

I have a new sealed RIALTO bridge chip that i can try to replace if i don't get this beast going, but first i will need to replace the missing caps and especially find the value of R5 and replace it before trying anything else.
I think this forum would be my best chance for finding the value of R5 as maybe someone on here has the same card and is able to measure the resistance of it? The resistance on the empty pads without the resistor is measuring O.L. on the meter.
I can try to post pictures, thanks in advance guys!
