Windows XP virtual machine gets a black screen on startup after installing VMWare Tools. Are there ways to fix this?
I'm on Windows 11 being the host and I have the latest version of VMWare Workstation and tools.

What version of VMWare Workstation/Player are you using?
Reason I'm asking is because Workstation is now free. About a year or so ago Broadcom/VMWare discontinued Player in favor of Workstation, for Windows.
You just need to create a Broadcom account. There is a section for free downloads on the Support Site. You'll also find the most up-to-date version of VMWare Tools.
And please tell me you're using Service Pack 3??
