If I have a 1/4 inch (i.e. guitar/bass cable jack) female to 3.5mm male adapter, is it possible to record instrument with a regular Audigy 2 ZS card? Has anyone done so?

I'm aware that some variants of A2ZS come with a sort of audio interface that's supposed to go into the front 3.5 in drive bay or something like that - and I'm sure instrument recording is possible with that. But what about with just a regular A2ZS PCI card?

It has a mic in and a line in jack, it can record anything mic level or line level.

If the instrument is acoustic and has a mic in it, stick it in mic. Otherwise if it has an electric pedal of sorts, stick it in line.
