ABiT NF7-S v2.0
When I press power button I get
- all fans spin (mobo, psu, gpu)
- both green and red leds are on
- no beep codes

- all caps look fine
- CPU is AMD Athlon XP 2500+ (Barton) and it's working in another board...
- Tried swapping RAM from 2x 1GB, to 1x 1GB to 1x512MB
- Tried removing the GPU completely, still no beep codes

PS:
ordered flash chip from eBay as I suspect that is the main culprint of why it's not working.

Do you have a POST diagnostics card? If not, I recommend getting one as that can help narrow down why it isn't posting.

Reflashing the BIOS can be a good initial step. At the very least, it will rule out whether it's a BIOS issue or something else.

Make sure your bios battery is good and installed. I've had numerous boards either play dead or behave strangely if the batter was missing, dead, or low. I've revived many a "dead" board by just replacing the coin cell.

Hi,

Have you tried Clearing the CMOS memory with the jumper? I think it worth a try until the chip arrives.

Could you provide a high res image of the board?

Had a similar issue with an ABIT AN7 and just replaced the BIOS (by hotflashing) with the latest one - then it worked again!

BTW the latest BIOS version 27 for the NF7-S V2.0 is available from my ABIT motherboard BIOS update page -> https://soggi.org/motherboards/abit.htm, if a flasher is needed AWDFLASH v8.99 is available from -> https://soggi.org/motherboards/bios-update-fl … h-utilities.htm.

kind regards

Hi,
also check on caps, i have 5 NF7 boards, and on every board, there are few bad caps 🙁 But beside that, it is a best socket A board of all time (my subjective opinion)!

So the new flash chip arriwed today, I plugged it in and... nothing. Still no post. Just red and green led lit up and thats all.
All caps on the board are looking good (no bulging caps).
It's powered by Enermax Pro 625W PSU (that I verified is good).
It has Athlon XP 2500+ (also verified in another board that its good)
RAM config that I tried: 2x 1GB RAM, 2x 512MB RAM and 1x 512MB RAM ...no RAM configuration works.
Also plugged PC speaker/buzzer into the board and no beeps either, which means the board does not even get to loading BIOS.
I'm lost here what could be wrong with the mobo.
Should I order POST diagnostic card?

100% get a post card. You can’t be in this hobby without one 😉
