Does anyone own a MU2000EX?

Try a Yamaha music forum, as there are many vintage synth owners there. They were very rare, Japan/Asia units and only the enthusiasts still have them today. We're just gamers, for the most part, so we don't really need that hardware, beyond curiosity and reverse-engineering the samples into usable soft-synth builds.

I own three. Two EXs and one MU2000 that had its firmware upgraded to EX. Easily my favorite MIDI module and if I had to only choose one to keep. It would be my clear choice.

You can download them individually, here, on this chiptune site....

There are also a bunch of good files here, released by Yamaha in the past...

I notice a free MAME powered VST has been released today called Vintage Emulator Studio, that includes the MU2000. I've not tested it yet as I do not have the required MU2000 ROMs containing all the samples and presets yet to load into it. It does not mention if the FX engine is emulated as well, but I suspect not.

https://www.autodafe.net/blog/276-vintage-emu … es-is-here.html * Includes a YouTube video explaining the project and demoing a few synths emulated.
