There's a Duron 600 on my K7T Pro2 Ver:1 (W6330VMS V3.6 100702 11:00:51)
I would like to upgrade it with a more powerful CPU.
But I can't find clear information about what is supported.
For example the doc for the Bios 3.6 says support for XP 2600+, only for K7T Turbo2.
But it's never clear what the "not Turbo" card can do.

I read the card support a Athlon 1.4 GHz, but also it doesn't support a Athlon 1.4 GHz 😀 Conflicting, as usual ...
The bios of my card says it goes up to 133, and multiplier up to 13.5. Which gives a theoretical max of 1.8 GHz. Quite 1733 MHz as on XP2100+

I would not mind using a XP 2500+ for example, even if it works just like a 1700+. All I need is bios support for the cpu.
The bios update 3.0 says "Update AMD recommend CPU string for Palomino CPU (1.5Ghz & above)."
So it should support the last Palomino CPU ? XP 2100+ ?
Of course I use the latest bios.

What do you actually use on this board ?
What I understand is Palomino cpu, with a code for example AX2100DMT3C would work, but Thoroughbred cpu like AXDA2500KV4D would not.
Am I right ?

Have a look on my MSI K7T Pro2 specification page -> https://soggi.org/motherboards/msi/K7T-Pro2.htm, there you'll also find the manual. The Board also supports AMD Athlon (Thunderbird) and AMD Athlon XP (Palomino, Thoroughbred A, Thoroughbred B), but the 133 MHz FSB versions won't run at full speed because the VIA KT133 chipset doesn't support it (even not with OC).

kind regards

I finally got a XP 2500+ AXDA2500KV4D , it works nice and is seen as a XP1500, because the mainboard can't go over, of course.
Enough for what I do, and much better than the Duron 600 ! 😀
Maybe I will unlock it to go a bit faster, but it doesn't really matter for my usage.
Usually I don't really trust manuals for this kind of update. When there's a bios update it often change everything.
