i got Moto racer 1 working great in d3d 640 x 400. 640 x 480 do graphical glitch not enough vram
Jet Moto 1 works in d3d 640 x 480

But nfs iii has always the game running only in white and grey colors. any idea ? ( works in software )
does is exist a way to force 512 x 384 resolution in d3d ?

As i know NFS3 is 640x480 or more, but you could change colors, 15bit / 16bit and more, at least with ATi.
Usually for 2MB and lower cards i use games with lower resolution options, like 320x240 and 400x300.

I dont think more ram or smaller resolution would help. NFS3 will require blending modes and alpha blending not supported by Virge.

Ok thanks guys for answers ! i will stop loosing my time with that game in d3d with the s3 virge 2mb 😁
I will receive a compaq armada 1750 with a ati rage pro 4mb or 8mb i suppose it will be ok.
its a p2 300mhz with ess sound card with esfm chip. so i can play dos games and some d3d in win98

Yes it will, not fastest card, its then playable. You can try ati 3dcif driver for Win9x.

What sadism is this?

NFSHP on a 233 with a 2MB Virge? No way.

I had a 300 with a 4MB Virge and that thing did’t texture hardly squat, that’s the grey colours you see.

I know it says it can do d3d, but don’t believe everything you read 😀
