I have two tandy 1100FD pottable computers these came with 1,44” DD 720kB Matsushita EME-213 floopy drives… these are belt driven and both inop due to belts have fallen appart. Replacement belts did not help to either drive….both cant read….
I gave it up and found adapter from proprietary 24pin connector to standard 34pin so I van ise standard floppy drive, however it seems to be impossible to locate working DD drive… question is, is it possible to use 1,44MB high density drive instead of 720k one? I read that DD diskettes could not be formatted properly in HD drive, but at least can I use HD drive to read/write DD disks properly?
