I'd like to build a new DOS only machine.

P-II cpu class at best
PCI or AGP I don't mind
Do not take into account speed sensitive games.

My config:

1) P-II
2) S3 64V+ PCI or nV 440 AGP (+Voodoo if needed)
3) 64MB Ram

4) SB card ISA or ESS PCI, maybe Yamaha OPL-3

This is just for fun, write down your suggestion and have fun.
Not the best, what you would do on a boring afternoon.

PC#1 Pentium 233 MMX - 98SE
PC#2 PIII-1Ghz - 98SE/W2K

Scheduled for the next boring afternoon is a P166 on a 430HX with 32 or 64MB RAM, with either a Matrox Mystique 220 or a Rage II+DVD.

Unicorn herding operations are proceeding, but all the totes of hens teeth and barrels of rocking horse poop give them plenty of hiding spots.

Always noticed that AMI reboots faster than Award around those times, and DOS involves a lot of Ctrl Alt Del

DOS needing a lot of CTRL+ALT+DEL is one of the reasons I dislike JEMMEX so much. Unless you forcefully assert that it needs to use an alternate handler for that, it looks at you stupidly when you press the 3 finger salute.

Sometimes even with the alternative handler loaded.

IIRC a schoolmate of mine bought a P133 + Mystique + 64MB of ram for some good money.
He could play Grand Prix 2 at max or almost.

When I (my parents) bough a better video card and he was stuck with that one I went "ah-ah" like Nelson (The Simpsons).
Any upgrade was welcome back then.
