I saw the Goldeneye Setup Respository has a download for a Windows 98 build, so wanted to try it out on my Windows 98 PC, however, I get some errors in the installer:

The attachment GSEditoterror.png is no longer available

The program still appears in my program files, but when I try to run the installed program, I get this error:

The attachment GSEerror2.jpg is no longer available

I've tried to turn KernelEx on, and it still doesn't work.

The only information I can find in regards to it's requirements is here: https://archive.org/details/geeditsetupeditorinstaller3
However, Vcredist2008 requires Windows 2000/XP. I was able to get this at least starting on a previous (corrupt) build, but my GPU at the time wasn't good enough to run it proper.

How would I get this working?

You're not going to run this on Windows 98 without some effort put into it. The executables are set to Windows 2000 and higher (MajorSubsystemVersion) and as you have mentioned, it uses vcredist 2008. Overall, there's probably not much point in altering the executables, when clearly this has never been run on Windows 98 other than maybe the installer itself (and the installer I suppose is Windows 98 compatible).

Maybe there's somewhere an older version that doesn't have these problems.
